It Is A Hybrid Fitness World 61% Home Gyms vs 31% Gym Memberships

fitness trends gym memberships home gyms hybrid fitness market data Jan 05, 2024

We live in a hybrid fitness world.  In a survey it was found that 61% had designated workout spac ein their homes and 31% had gym memberships.  We are going to continue to see a mixture of solutions as we move further into a world of feeling good versus just looking good.

61% Home Gyms vs 31% Gym Memberships
It Is A Hybrid Workout World...πŸŒπŸ‹‍β™€οΈπŸƒ‍♂️

🏑 Home Gym setups are popular, but not necessarily keeping people out of the commercial gym. A Survey found 61% had designated workout space in their home and 31% had gym memberships. This all points to the Hybrid Workout world or what I like to call the "Fitness Buffet"πŸ₯‘πŸ₯•πŸ₯—

I personally don't have a "Home Gym" per se but I have a lot of various types of equipment at home. My primary workout is at the gym but I also mix in outdoor runs, etc. This is the New Era of Fitness

⬆️2/3rd Report Exercising Outdoors
➑ 54% Prefer At Home Fitness
⬇️20% - 30% Have Gym Memberships
β†ͺ Other is Travel, Apartments, Corporate, Etc.

πŸ“Œ The Garage Gym Review guys did a survey to 2,000 fitness participants and found out Home Gyms are not replacing Commercial membership as 51% reported wanting to join a gym and 31% had a membership while 61% also had dedicated space at home for fitness equipment.

There is a need for both IMO and here is a breakdown of the reasons why and the benefits with Commercial Gym Memberships vs Home Gyms;

COMMERCIAL GYM BENEFITS
β—Ύ More Motivating
β—Ύ Community/Social
β—Ύ Competition Against Other
β—Ύ More Options For Workout

HOME GYM BENEFITS
β—Ύ Convenient / No Commute
β—Ύ Privacy / Quiet
β—Ύ Comfortable
β—Ύ Free

Based on the data I've read and how I am seeing things. I would bet most people go out for the outdoor walk/run and overtime they buy some equipment for home and as they need more they make their move to the gym membership. Overtime, it becomes a mix of things and we will continue to see this evolve with multiple fitness/wellness options.

πŸ”΄ Bottom Line - Home Gyms are Big. The At Home Fitness Equipment market is projected to hit $21.8 Billion by 2030 and Consumers are willing to pay more for Home Gyms than Gym Memberships. πŸ’΅
